6501967 Sen. Robert Kennedy to Henry Lorang

In 1966, Henry Lorang had gone to Spokane to hear Bob Kennedy speak. While he was there he wanted to give Sen. Kennedy a poem he had written about his brother John. Henry tried to pass the poem up to him in a manila envelope, with a large crowd of college students in front of him. One of the students said, “We’ll pass it up for you” and Robert Kennedy received the poem. A photo of Kennedy and the envelope made the front page in 1966.
