4301942, Marguerite to the Children

In 1942, Marguerite spent 4 months in the hospital. She had suffered from her childhood with mild bipolar conditions as well as post-partum depression which was not understood as well at the time. After coming out of the hospital Marguerite was helped by Catholic Charities to return to her nursing job and wasn’t able to return home to the children. Letters were exchanged from then on between her and the children and in 1966, Henry Lorang wrote a tender note about how he had always loved her. They spent some time together towards the end of their lives. Joan Lorang was the oldest at home and tried to make up for Mother being gone.
